Now there are quite a few people who have cried while reading Ender's Game or Speaker for the Dead...but it never occurred to me wonder how many books (preferably by OSC) have made you shed a tear, or two.
My list is pretty extensive:
Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Shadow of the Giant
Enchantment
Earthfall
Sarah
The Worthing Saga
Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus
The Folk of the Fringe
Several books in the Alvin Maker series
Several of the Short Stories
I think that's all, but I never really realized the emotional impact from all the books besides Ender's Game...oh and, no I didn't cry in Children of the Mind when Ender died...I thought to myself Finally, this wonderful character can rest in peace. Finally Card cannot touch him any longer. He's free! That may be a little to gushy for some of you, but...sorry.

You're Obsessed With Orson Scott Card When...
- you wander with EG conspicuously looking for OSC people
- your friends threaten you with destruction of your collection
- you think reading only 2 OSC books a week is BAD
- you can scroll through 3 pages of books on Amazon before you find one you DONT own
- you consider your bookshelf the most valuable thing in your room
- you can write every paper in class about Card
- you have to make sure your boyfriend is okay with your obsession
- you walk around saying, "I'm linked to Card's webpage."
- you watch God's Army, then run out and buy the novelization by his son
- you celebrate on August 24th
- you read the introductions of EG and Speaker over and over
- you found your new life calling in the Speaker intro
- and you finally realize Card is human (sorry!)
- and now you have to figure out what to say at Scard's speaking
- you have an entire jump drive full of Orson Scott Card info
- you buy first editions of books you already own
- you begin to buy Analog magaznes from 25 years ago
- you look up spark notes for Ender's Game
- and Speaker for the Dead
- even though you son't need them
- you can blame OSC for introducing you to hardcore Sci-fi like Asimov and Le Guin
- you know Card is called Scott by his friends and family
- which results in the nickname, Scard
- everyone in school calls him Scard
- even the teachers
- you own more than one copy of Ender's Game
- you can list the books by him that you don't own on a single sheet of paper
- you write letters to Card that you never intend to send
- you write letters to Card that you wish you could send
- you write your thesis on him
- you write a paper about him
- you research him on the internet
- you plan on attending SVU until you realize you don't have $16,000 for tuition.
- in your utter remorse you begin compiling all the information you can find about him
- you know where his section is in Borders
- you organize his section in Borders
- you own more books by him than Borders and Barnes and Noble combined
- he has a section in your bookshelf
- you deduce possible birthdates for Ender(and Peter)
- you buy a backpack with three days left of school because it's grey, orange, grey
- he has his own folder on your jump drive
- he has his own folder on your computer
- Ender also has his own folder
